BINARY NUMBER SYSTEM
. The binary counting system is a positional numbering system with base 2. It uses only two symbols - most often the numbers 0 and 1. Because electrical signals are the easiest way to operate in a binary system (signal is 1, no signal is 0), this system is used in digital electronics, including virtually all modern computers. The numbers 0 and 1 are most commonly called bits.
